This guide explains how to measure a garment you already own and use those measurements to choose your Gambit Gaming size.
The Best Way to Choose Your Size
Take a T-shirt, sweatshirt or hoodie that already fits you well. Lay it flat on a firm surface without stretching the fabric, then compare its measurements with the size information on the product you are considering.
Use the same garment type for the most useful comparison. Measure a T-shirt to choose a T-shirt, and a hoodie to choose a hoodie.
How to Measure Chest Width
- Lay the garment flat with the front facing upwards.
- Smooth out creases without pulling the fabric.
- Measure straight across from one armpit seam to the other.
- Compare this flat width with the product size chart.
Some charts show the full chest circumference rather than the flat garment width. Where this happens, double your armpit-to-armpit measurement before comparing it.
Choosing Between Two Sizes
When your measurements fall between two sizes, think about how you want the garment to feel:
- Choose the smaller size for a closer fit, provided the measurements still allow comfortable movement.
- Choose the larger size for a more relaxed fit or easier layering.
- Allow extra room if you plan to wear a T-shirt beneath a sweatshirt or hoodie.
- Consider the garment length as well as the chest measurement.

Will Cotton Clothing Shrink?
Cotton can shrink when exposed to high wash or drying temperatures. Wash at no more than 30°C, follow the garment care label and air dry where possible. Do not deliberately buy a larger size on the assumption that it will shrink to fit.

Should I measure my body or a garment?
Both can help, but comparing a well-fitting garment is usually the simplest method because it already includes your preferred amount of room.
What should I do if I am between sizes?
Using the chest measurement choose the larger option for a relaxed fit or layering, and the smaller option for a closer fit when the measurements still provide enough room.
Can embroidery affect the fit?
The embroidered area can feel firmer than the surrounding fabric, particularly when new, but it should not significantly change the overall garment size.
